What are these crazy workouts I do every day??
I have had several people interested in what type of programs I do when I workout. So following is my story.
I have worked out, on and off, for at least the past 20 years. These workouts have ranged from gym workouts, weight lifting, bootcamps, yoga, walking, running, biking, swimming and triathalon training. My workouts have changed over the years based on my fitness goals and stage of life.
Beachbody on Demand
Now, for the past few year, I have been doing Beachbody workouts. What is this you ask? When I first joined Beachbody, they offered fitness DVD’s (yes, they only worked in a DVD player), along with their superfood shake, Shakeology. After many months of following others on facebook who were doing these workouts, I finally purchased my first DVD workout program. I loved it. I finally had a workout I could do in the comfort of my own home and on my own time. It really helped me gain a better fitness level. After about a year of doing various Beachbody DVD’s, I finally signed up to be a “coach”, basically so I could get a discount on the workout programs and shakes. This was several years ago and I have never pursued the business, but I LOVE the workouts and I drink Shakeology daily.
Fast forward to 2017 and Beachbody’s business model has changed slightly. Now, instead of mailing out DVD’s, they have what is called Beachbody on Demand (BOD). BOD offers streaming workouts, program guides, workout calendars, meal plans and more. This is kind of like Netflix for working out. There are thousands of workouts to choose from. This is what I use for my workouts.
Is it expensive?
I have signed up for a yearly “membership” which is around $100 a year. They offer a couple other options for 6 month, 3 month and a FREE 14-day trial. This is way less than I was spending for a yearly gym membership with over thousands of workouts included.

What if I don’t like it?
You can sign up for the 14-day trial to check it out for FREE. When you sign up, you have to enter a credit card number, but you can cancel before the 14 days by calling (800) 470-7870. If you like it, you can keep it.
How does the streaming work?
The videos can be streamed using any type of on-line device. I use my MAC or my phone to stream my workouts every day to the TV in my basement. If I am out of town, I just use my phone and continue my workouts as usual.
What equipment do I need?
You can do most of these workout with just a couple sets of dumbbells or resistance bands. The majority of these workouts include a modifier who used minimal equipment and/or lower impact movements.
